Skovby #118 — Compact Extendable Dining Table with Leaf Storage | Danish Design

- Compact to live with, generous when you need it. The #118 suits a room that's tight on space most of the time but fills up when people come over. It starts compact and extends in two stages up to 232cm, and there's a compartment beneath the top that holds the leaves — so they're always to hand, not lost at the back of a cupboard. It's a good-looking table with it: softly rounded corners, a classic wooden underframe, and legs that are slightly angled for a bit of movement and finished smooth and rounded. The smaller of a pair — its longer sibling is the #119.

Available in solid and veneered versions, in a choice of finishes. Extension leaves are available to purchase separately.

How to Care for Your Skovby #118 Dining Table

General Care guidelines

For regular care, dust with a dry, soft cloth. To clean or remove spills, use a damp cloth with a mild natural soap and dry immediately with a soft, clean cloth. Take care not to saturate the wood and wipe up spills promptly to prevent staining or moisture damage. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and scouring pads. To protect the surface, use coasters, placemats, and mousepads, as excessive heat and repeated daily use can damage the finish. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, heat, and direct sunlight to help preserve the beauty and durability of your solid wood furniture for years to come.

Care guidelines veneer

For regular care, dust with a soft microfibre cloth. To clean or remove spills, wipe the surface with a clean, damp cloth and dry thoroughly with a microfibre cloth to prevent spotting. Clean spills immediately by blotting with a lightly damp cloth, then drying the area completely. As veneer is a thin layer of natural wood, extra care should be taken to avoid scratches, chips, and prolonged exposure to moisture. Use coasters, placemats, tablecloths, and runners to protect surfaces from heat, stains, and abrasive objects. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners, direct sunlight, excessive heat, and leaving items in the same position for extended periods, as this may cause permanent discolouration. With proper care, your veneer furniture will maintain its appearance and longevity for years to come.
