How to Care for Your Table 

For regular care, dust with a dry, soft cloth. To clean or remove spills, use a damp cloth with a mild natural soap and dry immediately with a soft, clean cloth. Take care not to saturate the wood and wipe up spills promptly to prevent staining or moisture damage. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and scouring pads. To protect the surface, use coasters, placemats, and mousepads, as excessive heat and repeated daily use can damage the finish. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, heat, and direct sunlight to help preserve the beauty and durability of your solid wood furniture for years to come.

What’s the star pedestal leg or Rex Leg?

It’s a single central pedestal base shaped like a star — it gives the table a statement look while keeping the floor clear, so chairs sit comfortably all the way around without legs getting in the way. What’s it made from?

100% solid European oak, finished with a natural hardwax oil. It’s solid wood throughout — no veneer — so each table has its own grain, knots and character, and develops a richer patina over time.

Why does the table have knots and cracks?

Because it’s natural solid timber, each tabletop has its own knots and natural markings — that’s part of what makes every table individual, not a flaw. It’s the character of real oak.

Can it be sanded and refinished?

Yes — because it’s solid oak, the tabletop can be sanded back and refinished whenever needed, restoring its original surface. It’s one of the advantages of solid wood over veneer, and part of why it lasts for decades.

8 to 10 weeks is the lead time for this piece. Because it’s made to order, it’s built fresh to your size and finish — we’ll keep you posted along the way. 

Can I see it before I order?

Yes — the Mix & Match oval is on display in our Douglas, Cork showroom, so you can see the oak and the finishes in person before you commit

Do I have to pay it all upfront?

Not at all. Pay in full if you’d rather, or spread it — a 50% deposit gets your order started, and we invoice the balance only once your table is ready to deliver. [confirm deposit applies to tables]
